I just got off the phone with Stevesgunz ordering a new set of sites fore
A used rossi ranch hand with full stock I will be getting off of EE
Steve was telling me that it is not the sights as such that is a problem
The problem is caused by muzzle lifting up before the bullet exit barrel by adding a taller front site and lower rear site is to compensate for the barrel flip
After our phone conversation and ordering the new sights I started wondering about muzzle-porting or adding a muzzle break ?
I'm hoping that it won't be too expensive to have the work done any recommendations?

By the way he said that he was jealous of us Canadians and wish that he could put a full stock on a ML

Changing sight heights will change point of impact. If it is sighted in now and you add a taller front sight and a lower rear sight, it will shoot considerably lower.

Shoot the rifle and see where is shoots before doing any changes. No one in Canada does 'muzzle porting'. Magna Port Canada went out of business quite some time ago. Just about anyone can add a muzzle brake. (That's brake not break) but if you go with the brake it will be one ugly Ranch Hand.

It wouldn't be the first ugly rifle I have owned haahaa
Sum of ugliest rifles I own are my favourites
My plan is to use it when hunting in muskeg short rifles or handy when you're buried up to your nuts in mud
I will be trying out the new sight first no use adding a mud scoop unless I have to

If you reload, do up some lower power plinking rounds to see how the gun shoots in the first place. Then work up to full house loads to give you a base to judge your needs. Mine wears a Skinner bbl mount peep/ghost ring. Still shoots a little high, I can live with it. Most shots with a bush gun are relatively short range. As a side note, I don't compensate when shooting my 44 Super Blackhawk.

I already have another Mares legs in 44 mag that I mounted a reflex sight on which I really like but it is a pain in the ass when raining or really sunny out(seems like it's always raining when I'm hunting haahaa)
But now with my surgery I can use iron sights again I am thrilled that I will be able to Pack a naked rifle again .
I do have to learn how to reload soon I have all the equipment. I cannot get 44 Magnum ammo out of the co-op
