Ar opinions: NEA vs Norinco

If you're on the cheap grab the Norc...it's basic but gets the job done. No drama, just works (eats everything). Don't spend money changing anything...just shoot the crap out of it.

I have a few buddies with Norcs and every one of them has operated flawlessly. They are not overly pretty, but for the price you can't expect to have it all. With a few cheap upgrades they can actually become a decent looking rifle.

Or, for $60 and a few hours of your time you can get an arms-coat shake and spray kit and re-do your norc in a cool colour. It will look sweet and, the arms-coat tends to fill in and smooth out rough sections.

Of course, I personally would look in the EE first. There are just too many great deals on barely used and fully babied guns. You can get something better then either the norc OR the NEA for similar or the same $$. Which is what I have always done.

Yes I am aware of that.
There are ar15 out there that have short barrels like 7.5" and they run without any issues.

I am asking for people's experience with NEA 7.5".

Yes that is true. A lot of the 7.5" barrelled guns are picky about ammo.
And require tuning to run reliably.

I am not saying that you should not get one, just saying there are things you should look into.

They do look cool though.

I have a different opinion - spending less money on the gun means you can spend more money (if you wish) putting lipstick smack dab on the lips of that Norinco pig!

mine work fine no problem even with pmag great accuracy good finish on the frame only blemish for is cosmetic on the barrel coating
accuracy and reliability are good for me
if you want a litle more get a Daniel Defense I have one in 300AAC blackout , love it and just few hundreds more

I've had knights, colt, dpms, bushmaster, atr, norinco, and nea.

I wouldn't take another norinco ar if it was offered to me for free. And right now, the only AR's in my safe that get any use is my 18" NEA and a 7.5" NEA cqb gun.

I'm really happy with mine and have no problem recommending them for someone in the market for an ar.

My 18" NEA works great, looks great, shoots straight, and also, didn't support fu$&ing communism.

Buy North American. There are a lot if great options. Stop supporting communist oppression when ever you can.

All depends on what you want to do with it.
If you want something pretty to keep in your safe... Maybe take it out once in a while to admire or whatever... Don't get me wrong, I have guns like that too :) but my Norc is a truck and I shoot it a ton! It eats everything I feed it and goes bang every time. Turn the key and put my foot to the floor! There's never a question. That makes it pretty cool in my book.

I'd buy a Norinco any day of the week in a heart beat.

I would not give NEA one single dollar after all their shilling and lying.

I wouldn't touch the NEA. They have had numerous serious quality issues including bolts coming apart after three shots. The norincos work and work well.

I will be doing 2 builds with NEA matched receiver sets when I get home from Mississippi in a week or two. First will be a 18" SS 6.8 SPC build and the second will be a 20" 223 wylde varmint barrel build. I will do a build thread on both when I start it.

Both budget builds.

Yeah stop supporting communism because the Chinese are buying up everything in North America and one way or another you are supporting them.
