Cheap ammo at Canadian Tire.

If nothing else CT selling guns again drives the antis nuts, makes guns appear mainstream and acceptable to the public.

Yes, I agree. For the stores that have owners that are not fudds, or downright anti's.
Some won't even sell hunting or fishing licenses. Even without making a profit from it, it should be considered a customer service.IMO

Barrie North CT has been back into firearms for a few years now and I have picket up SKS and SVT 40 there as they regularly have them. Their MSF soft point amo for hunting is pretty much the cheapest I have found for both x39 and x54R. Buy a rifle and they give you a coupon for 10-15% off full priced purchase of hunting and fishing stuff. They give u the same coupon if you buy your licenses and tags there. Very pleased to have this so close. Cabella's coming in the spring here.

Is that the Bayfield store, and do they sell the surplus stuff by the case?

If you don't see firearms or ammunition just ask the staff at the firearms counter if they will order some in. My local ct ordered 45 colt ammo when someone asked and it flew off the shelves. Now they are trying to get more. I've also seen sks & handgun rounds there. According to the staff new firearms just arrived including 10/22's, m14's and junior carbine.

The Ct in Fredericton is renovating as we speak they have removed out a back wall and put in a counter that has to be 40-60 feet long .... they currently have cases of 7.62x39 for 199 pallets of it on display and have Russian sks on sale for $160.00 there are 50-60 of them at least on a rack in front of the counter cable locked together but you can get close and personal and look them over.
Every time I go to Freddy I have to visit that store,, lots of fun and great prices!

My local CT used to carry firearms but it's been over ten years since they got rid of them. The store still carries ammo and I buy there once in a while even though the prices suck. It's supply and demand so maybe if I start clearing off their shelves of 22 ammo they'll start bringing more in at more competitive prices  Should actually try and talk to someone higher up and express the need for more and better ammo selection and possibly bringing back firearms.

Our local CTC stores don't seem to care.. I've asked a couple of times to order in more ammo and get a shrug.. :(

Magellan

I don't think they have surplus/bulk ammunition, at least I have never seen it, but the MFS stuff in both FMJ and SP is usually there at a good price except it becomes scarce around Moose and Deer season. FYI you can ask them to see if they can get you a certain firearm you are looking for ordered for you if you want.

Many of the CT's got out of it with the gun registry and now are looking at getting back into it as a draw. The guns and amo is a draw to get people in the door. The margins are small but if people buy housewares and seasonal stuff while they are there… it is worth the expense. The stores have to have a certain number of staff trained.

Thats what I thought, Ive never seen it around here either at a CT store. You figure if they sell the guns, it would make sense to carry the ammo for them as well.

Our CT prefers to have dust rather than ammo. There shelves have been empty since October. I thought it was due to hunting season but it appears not. They were supposed to get long rifles, even listed on their website as a "Pro Shop", bahahahahaha. Oh well at least I can order online.

The gunshop in the Macleod Trail store in Calgary is a stand alone business who operates within the franchise facility. Hence the extensive service and supplies. That's what they told us anyway.

CT on Victoria Street in Kitchener has crates of Romanian for $230 + tax. Apparently they have lots in their lockup. They also have MFS soft points for around $15. No 54R though :(

Better than the $300 Shooters wants for their crates.

CT in Winnipeg on Leila and McPhillips is good. They have bulk x39, x54, 5.56/223 and even Swiss GP11 packs. The ammo prices are the same, or nearly the same as many CGN vendors. In their display case they have K31, MN 91/30, SKS, Suomi 9mm, and M1 Carbine (current made Auto Ordnance reproduction). One of the best CT's I've seen in a long time.
