Kel-Tec RDB anyone?

I don't see why it wouldn't come north at some point.
Keltec needs to fix warranty and customer service in Canada though if they want to sell more product up here.

The quality might be fine.... but a lifetime warranty doesn't mean much if you have to deal with headaches and long waits to get things fixed.

Both KelTec and Vault have dealt with their warranty issues in what I would consider a very, very poor manner.

I already own 4 KelTecs, and I will not buy another until somebody steps up and begins to take responsibility.

I owned 4 Kel-tec guns, now I'm down to two.. If RDB will be same quality as RFB or better, I'm definitely in for one.

I also had to deal with Vault about one of the rifles, and was very pleased with the service they provided. Fast and easy.. Had everything fixed within 10 days.

Had to have a part replaced on my RFB. Vault looked after me right away.

However, I've also owned a Tavor. THAT is a spectacular rifle and I wish I still had it. An RFB's selling point was that it shot .308. Once it's down sized, I don't see the point.....

I agree! I have a Tavor and I love it. It feels solid and well made. The RFB felt...no insult intended...chinese made?!
Like I said, saw the RDB in the Shotshow post and thought it looked cool.

I got a rfb, I was missing the front sling mount. The seller that I bought it from was telling me none of the rfb they sold had one ( bullsh! T) vaul well I didn't here from them back for a couple of day's. I message kel tec and the same day they had the part express shipped to me with a hat t shirt, safty glass mini kel tec screwdriver and pamphlet.

Now I'v heard alot of terrible story about customer service and I do belive thdm, I guess I got lucky!

The build quality of my rfb is superb but I wouldn't touch a su16 with a 5 foot poll du to polimer receiver cracking and the such so.

My final verdic, if the rdb is the same quality as the rfb and between 1500$ and 2200$ I will concider it. Not a penny more!

I think the MSRP was around 2500$ and 3000$US( we can expect them to be 500$ more) for the wood m43 version.
I love the idea of a 7.62x39 bullpup but the price and track record not so much. At that price I'd expect 150% reliable like current 3000$ rifles out there, ACR, tavor, Swiss arms, xcr, sl8.

This was what I thought as far as price was concerned. Seeing as their KSG sells around $1600 and the RFB in the $2000s. Do you think ( gut feeling-wise) the RDB will be comparable in quality to the Tavor or XCR for that kind of cash?

Lets do it without the gut feelings. I handled both at shot show.

The M43 is purely for fun. If you like world war II era guns its a neat imagining of a bullpup from the 40s 50s 60s. Nothiing wrong with that. But its not a modern fighting rifle.

The RDB feels good. Very similar to an RFB. Downward ejecting sounds like the right idea for a bullpup, but you do get a ton of bolt travel that way. I'll be curious to feel how it cycles. There are three other obstacles that prevent me from reccomending the RDB:
1. The magazine release: It's like a tavor's but worse. Its a chunk of metal and instead of a lever it slides straight back.
2. The charging handle is reciprocating. Sure, the techs have promised everyone that it will be available without one, but the fact is we havent seen that yet.
3. The weird muzzle threading isnt my style. The M43 front sight threads onto the barrel itself, while the RDB just has a massive spacer to make muzzle devices fit.

We'll have to see how they do for price. If they're $2700-3000 they wont see the same kind of adoption rates the Tavor did stateside

I like Kel-tec, but the prices seem high and they can't seem to pump out enough product to keep up with demand.

That being said, the RFB is on my list of must haves and the RDB could very well end up in the safe eventually!

TV PressPass,
From one Tavor guy to another, I know where you lean on this issue! Thanks for your concise input. I will probably pass on the RDB but the RFB may find a way into my safe someday. A 308 bullpup is cool but maybe not a 223 not called a Tavor esp. If they cost the same!
Cheers!
