monkey hunting in South America

I want no part of hunting any primates. The nuisance and dangerous behaviour that is described here just demonstrates they are intelligent enough to act as humans would and do if out social restraints were removed. Heck, humans have always organized to ambush prey or rival humans, organized to drive invaders off thier turf and responded violently if they feel threatened.

waaay back to the original question... I think some of the Caribbean islands have introduced populations of monkeys (I think 'old world' or African species?) but the mainland Central and South America has native 'new world' primate species - no invasive or introduced monkeys or apes as far as I know. And probably not a lot of hunting opportunity

They are animals doing what animals do. Only humans have these delicate sensitivities when it comes to eating animals.

That about says it. 'Disneyfication' of animal species is rampant though. Try explaining to people that Bambi's dad would've run him off into the woods so he could #### his mom and leave. Most shake their heads in disbelief.

Its no different than getting eaten by a bear ... or a pack of wolves or a Lion or , or , or ....

Im at the top of the food chain , If it was legal id take an auto loader ...

If I was out there doing my thing they would hunt me ... so when they are out there doing they're thing ... I might hunt them

Way she goes

Having said that ... I wouldn't hunt any species that's numbers might be at risk

While I'm not a fan of eradicating animals, even gophers or coyotees, I'm a big fan of wiping out baboons. They have some very sociopathic behaviors like eating their prey alive. They evolved to the point that more and more of their food is meat. They learned that if if they rush a lake quick enough the flamingo can't take off. They eat smaller animals. None of that would bother me except they don't kill their prey. Last night I came upon a movie on YouTube where a baboon caught a baby impala or other deer looking thing. It started on the impala butt, taking out big chunks, the Impala screaming in pain. It continued to take a bite every few seconds and do so for a minute, half the impala's rear and mid section was missing yet the poor bastards was still alive. I could have sworn the baboon was enjoying it as if it knew exactly what it was doing.

You've obviously never seen coyotes or wolves bring down a deer or moose calf

Epic Saturday thread.

Oh the weather is crap here and I have no energy to go to the gym or even go shooting ... lol

Im literally sitting in my lay -Z- Boy with my laptop and new Tavor surfing google images and youtube for new optics and talking sh*t on CGN lol

Same as wolves and many other predators. I've seen wolves take down deer and start eating the guys while the deer is screaming and thrashing. Nature is cruel.
I know nature is cruel I don't have an issue with that. I don't care if cats play with mice. What I'm saying is the baboon in the video looked like be was getting was getting sadistic pleasure from eating his victim live

WARNING. It's f - ing discussing it's not for the faint hearted

I rest my case

Very few animals have given me the chills but a long stare from a baboon on a hot sunny day in Tanzania is one event I still remember.

OP- I'm unaware of any legal hunting in South America.
If I could have retaliated on the howlers in Belize slinging while I worked I sure would have!
