Were the stocks originally that colour or has that been refinished? Also I never realized the amount of differences between the SVT-38 and the SVT-40.

They likely won't go down in price unless a few crates get unearthed in some cave on the other side of the world and I bet even then, price will still be over a grand

I had no idea an SVT38 was worth over 10x what an SVT40 is. It sure wouldn't be to me.

That rifle is an svt 40 not svt38.

The listing on that proxy site does say SVT38, but despoterizer is right. I wonder if that's why it got bidded up to about $150 more then what's it worth because the bidders thought they were getting something rare?

They always do that there, I got a Mosin Nagant Dragoon edition from there only to realize it was a 91/30 so I want from getting a great deal to paying retail for a 91/30,

Now I usually go to the inspection period the day before
