1911

I've seen a Dan Wesson that was stunning from an appearance and fit POV. It was a 9mm. I'm not sure what a Valor would go for in Canada if you could get one but I'd buy it if I were in the market.

I have a DW Classic Bobtail in 10mm.

Amazing fit and finish and 10mm in a 1911 is a great round to shoot.

I'm currently in the market for another DW for my collection. They're not exactly easy to find.

The gun I shot was a PM 9. I have a semi custom that came close to $4k. From what I could see, the DW is an outstanding pistol at half the cost. Externally at least, I couldn't find a single flaw. Of course 9mm in a quality full sized 1911 is a joy to shoot.

I looked around a lot in that price range when I got mine and decided on a S&W as well. At the time they weren't know for 1911s but I think their reputation is pretty solid now. I got one of these and love everything about it. It seems to eat everything I put in it with ease and all the race features are cool when you are trying to go fast. I have around 3000 rounds, and 2 IPSC shoots, through it now and I can't remember one failure to extract or or anything (definitely not during the competitions). There are a bunch of really nice models in that price range though.

Good Luck

If you're willing to spend that kind of money(far too much), find a Mk IV Colt. You'll likely still have to do the trigger and change the sights, unless it has been done.

Baer for sure. The Sig's are super tight and great value from what I've seen, although I don't own one.
