Kel-Tec RDB anyone?

Both KelTec and Vault have dealt with their warranty issues in what I would consider a very, very poor manner.

I already own 4 KelTecs, and I will not buy another until somebody steps up and begins to take responsibility.

Couldn't agree more.

KelTec guns are really fun. They feel pretty cheap and plasticy especially if you're used to sturdier firearms but still seem alright.

If your firearm breaks expect a very long wait period, there's pretty much one guy fixing KelTech weapons in Canada (warranty work) on top of a bunch of other guns. I won't buy another KelTec until they fix that.

I find these claims very interesting as the two times I dealt with Vault directly they sent me the parts I asked for ASAP so I could fix my own problem. Great communication and quick delivery.

Was it really necessary to completely redesign the RDB in stead of just converting the RFB to .223. The RFB works great so why could it not just be made into a short action downsized version.

It really looks like Keltec's innovative designs are because they want to be different just to be different! They really go out of their way to design outside the box just to prove they can. If they can keep quality control up and maintain a good supply line, their reputation can only go up.

I had my rifle over there for 4 months, another fellow was going on 9 months I was told. I actually (now) think Vault bend over backwards to get products out as fast as possible but like I said they sound absolutely swamped with repairs. I had a convo with them and was pretty happy once a few things were explained.

In your case having them send you a firearm part would be a lot quicker than having your firearm take a place in a que and wait in line to be fixed. I asked KelTec USA for a front sight for a firearm and they got it to me in a few days, free. kelTec is really good to deal with but their hands are tied with warranty work up here.

...

The RDB feels good. Very similar to an RFB. Downward ejecting sounds like the right idea for a bullpup, but you do get a ton of bolt travel that way. I'll be curious to feel how it cycles. There are three other obstacles that prevent me from reccomending the RDB:

...

Bolt carrier travel of the STG44/BD44 is ~3 3/4 cartridge lengths or approximately 184mm. How does the M43 compare?

Do you have any more pictures of the m43, I can say that I want one. That is an attractive bullpup.

IIRC, I read on another thread that the KelTec warranty is NON-transferable.
So if you are the original owner, you will be taken care of.
If not, you are SOL.

Anyone remember that old ad for Maxell cassette tapes that shows an upside-down car in the desert?
"If there is a Maxell tape in this car and it doesnt work, we will replace it."

We need more warranties like that.

Had a warranty issue, sent one email to both Keltec USA and Vault, within a week I received the parts - from both. A week later I received a phone call from Vault to confirm I received the part.

Have not had better service from any other manufacturer.
