22lr optics

Got the absolute answer to the problem. BURRIS ELIMINATOR 16x with linear rangefinder Acquire the target, check the range, multiply the number by whatever to suit for internet range. Best of both worlds. That was easy. Just pokin' fun guys. Really think that 7x is a no go though.

What's the scope budget? As Hoytcannon says, 3-9x won't cut it. My 455 FS wears a Weaver V24, the 452 Lux has a Bushy 3200 5-15x50. My Anschutz 190 has a Mueller 8-32 but haven't really tried that one out enough yet. The Weaver loses brightness after 20x, the Bushy is good but only 15x. You may want to look at the Vortex line, have 4-12 Diamondback AO on a T bolt that's very clear but again rather low power for the ranges you're attempting. Do a lot of research on the target shooting sites. Of course this is the internet so opinions are like a##holes, everybody has one. Gotta like that phrase. Try to weed out the bs as best you can. Good luck in your quest.

Dont really have a budget as I'm not looking to buy, just curious what others are running. I'm quite happy with my zeiss conquest 6.5-20x50 for the purpose. I was a little worried about the adjustments with a 1" tube, but with the 25 moa base I should be fine. I think I'll check out hawke for my 17 hm2 I have on the go. Thanks guys, keep em comin.

I bought a zos 10-40 its has a 1/8 adjustment with my 20 moa rail I only have enuff adjustment to shoot 250 yards I will be switching it out for somthing else not shure yet but leaning towards a sightron or hawk because the zos is a pos. It has its place I just dont know were yet. On one of my other .22's I have a scorpian 4x12 its great but I find 12 power is only good up to 150 yards.

I've played a little with my Savage to 300.
I'm using a 20moa EGW rail, Burris Zee with 10moa inserts, holding a Bushnell 6500 4.5-30x50 Tactical.

guys are running everything under the sun, as it is ALL personal preference. small budget hawke, big budget schmidt and bender.

S&B is used used a lot on sub 50m air rifles. it all comes down to what YOU want.

Cool, just curious as to what YOU want in a 22lr long range setup.

2 questions.

1) these are listed as 'Air Gun' scopes, any problem running them on 22? no problem with the added G's that the powder hits them with? i know probably not but just wanted to make sure.

2) you pick the Varmint line but the Sidewinder line looks like it would be better for reaching out to longer distances. why did you choose the Varmint line? price?
