Remington 870 Custom Work

I have a Regular Rem 870 Express with the regular wood style stock, i am looking to get some custom work done on it, i would like a wood blue stock in place instead, look something like this , can this custom work be done, or am i dreaming?!

Boyd's Gun Stocks is excellent...I got a pepper laminate stock that goes beautifully with the blued metal work of my Husky 30.06 and my gunsmith
thought I'd paid $300+ for it! I brought it to him as I wanted him to glass bed the rifle into the new stock...it shoots one slightly ragged hole at 100
yards now! :) Anyway, I told him no, I got that finished beautiful stock from Boyd's for $110 shipped to my door! They're great!

Forgot about this thread,out of the 15 I only have 2 of those guns still and their both rifles that live at my farm.
They look great for the price you dont have to worry.
 
Yes! Lots of options! I wanna go with sky blue, just wondering if the forearm is same size as stock one on my 870? And wondering if they have different AP Buttstocks, I'd like the factory look rather then what Boyd's Buttstock looks like but if no can do, I just go with it! It still looks very good!
 
hey- sorry to bug with this question, but thought I'd cut straight to an owner....I'm pretty much 99% decided to buy a new Rem 870 Express (12GA/3"/26" laminate) but then sales guy said they're made in China and new versions don't come close to older (ca early '90s) versions? Never heard that yet; any complaints or dislikes on yours? My intent is mostly for target and turkey shooting. Thanks

I bought an 870 Express in 1989 and have put thousands of shells through it since then...it's been clean, it's been dirty...it's never failed to go bang when I pulled the trigger. That thing about China is horse manure, all the main components are made and assembled in the USA...might be a few minor bits that are sourced from outside the US but not much and nothing of consequence. You will be very happy with your 3" Remington 870 12 gauge! I just use G96 to clean and lube my 870 and it always runs like a dream. The only negative thing I've heard is that if you're tentative and slow in cycling one of the 3 1/2" 870 Supermags (or whatever they're calling them now), it's possible to have a jam. This is only an occasional thing, only with a feeble pumping of the action, and only in 870s that are made to handle up to 3 1/2" shells. My 870 that takes 2.75 and 3" shells has never had any issues. You don't need the 3 1/2" Supermag 870 anyway, the new crop of 3" shells includes loads that perform pretty much equally to the 3 1/2" shells and give you a lot less of a wallop on the shoulder. I'd only consider the 870 that handles the 3 1/2" shells if my main use of the gun was pass shooting high flying Canada geese.
Grab the 3" Remington 870 with confidence, it won't let you down...there's a reason they've sold almost 11 million of them! :)

The early express were indeed a better quality gun than what is being made today but neither are made in China and both still work and go bang when you pull the trigger
Remington makes all their "core" guns in America.
The 870 is a "core" gun and it's made in the USA.

The 870 China made "clones" is probally what he is thinking of which have been sold as the Norinco, Interstate Arms,Hawk, etc etc
 
Thanks for feedback, that pushes it over to 100% convinced! It's going to be the regular express (2.75/3"), not mag, since I don't eat Canada goose....at least not yet!
