Following the foot steps of my previous thread .50BMG AFICIONADO. This NEW and Improved thread will deal ONLY with the subject of the .50BMG caliber.

Everything related to the .50BMG : Reload, ammo, powder, bullets, brass, cleaning, primers, range set-up, ballistic behavior, etc.

Hope you will find this new thread interesting, IF NOT Then I can not do a thing about it.

All shooters those who have a .50 BMG, those who want one, those who dream about one, those who will walk the extra mile to get one.

You are welcome.

I would not admit to owning a .50 cal right about now. You don't think this will be prohibited in the next week?

Yes I am afraid like all of us. imagine mine cost me 19 000 CAN $.
If you had the brass the ammo, the press, the trimmer.... I am dead

I think they will only try to make it restricted. But I have my permit for restricted weapons.

The main problem is : IF you apply a restriction on a BOLT ACTION, do you have to apply that restriction to ALL bolt action ?
Only the divine .50BMG ?

I pray each night.

Have a Nice Zombie Day.

Why always the zombie thing?

It is a past time of me looking at Zombies.

If I may say. The Zombie do exist in the large meaning of the word. If you have smallpox you have fever and a lot of ugly things that cover your body. Look at ZONA on the web. The Zombies that eat someone are a Hollywood thing.

Some friends here use words like Cheers, Kindly, it is my way of saying to all of you that I hope you will continue reading my post.

No offense to anyone.

At the office my colleagues gave me a remote control little Zombie. Just to show me they appreciate me as one of them.

Have a Nice Zombie Evening.

I'm an avid, and fairly experienced 50 shooter, and enjoy exchanging info, and especially helping shooters trying to get going. But this stuff clutters the thread, like the other one, with distracting blabber. So maybe let's cut this useless crap and talk about guns.

Just an answer to Eddycat

Sorry.

Have a Nice Zombie Evening.

I don't think people appreciated having their posts all deleted , some good info lost. You handled that very poorly and all this zombie talk is to weird for me...

No problem.

There is always place for a new thread on 50cal rifles.

Deleting is much better than insulting a colleague.

Stainless Steel Media

I have done some phone calls today to other shooters in Western Canada to check their expertise with SStell media to clean brass.

One thing is sure. Brass is very clean.

But there is a small catch, the metal stick tends to erode with time and their length decreases. One of my friend (unbelievable but yes I do have friends) found one of the sticks inside the brass near the primer pocket.

From now on he is double checking the brass.

I do not know if this wear of the media is happening after only a few usage or after many (more than 5) but keep safe and check your .50BMG brass.

Have a Nice Zombie Day

Firing Pin Striking Depth

Following the possible misfire using XM33 I received two days ago fifty (50) once fire brass using a standard issue military rifle in .50BMG.

My first observation was that the hole done by firing pin is deep. No just a small scratch but a very well define a-spherical punch.

I have no data concerning where and when they were fired but they are dirty like hell.

No color around the primer seat.

I have a shooting session tomorrow.

So info will be here for all those interested to read it.

Dude...no one is going to take this seriously with all this zombie nonsense. Not me that's for sure

Free Land, Free Speech, Free Country, does that rings a bell ?

I am promoting .50 BMG rifle and sports

I will be more than willing to help and fund any thread on the .50BMG and be a super supporter of you starting one.

All of you my friend comment this thread any way you wish and want

BUT READ the POST.

Hoping it will help you and me on your next shooting trip.

Yes

If it takes only that to have information that can save your life then I will do whatever it takes to do it.

My friends will understand.

Now Steel Media must be use with care and please check the inside of the brass before you insert the primer and the powder.

The accident did happen and the little stick went inside the barrel.

For the MissFire, I will say that an accident did happen 3 weeks ago. And I am now extra carefull when I read such an incident
