.50bmg

He's talking about having a magnet to make sure all of the SS media is out of the case before you reload it. Am I correct OP?

I do not want to sound strange but OP stand for ?

I am not familiar with the abbreviations.

Stainless Steel is magnet free hence it will not be attracted to any magnet.

BUT if the media is of poor quality THEN the magnet will help you catch the bad guy (the stick).

I have looked at the Canadian supplier of these rotary tumbler and they do offer excellent media that could be used instead of the SSTeel stick.

Just be careful with that technology.

One use of the Magnet is to slide it on the BRASS of an ammo (primer, powder, bullet seated) if the magnet stick anywhere on the brass. Put that ammo aside.

I am sharing this because all of us buys sometimes what is called SURPLUS ammunition. And even the Dealer does not know the full content or mixture inside.

Dominion Arms primer vs CCI vs RUAG primers

Recent primers do not use any LEAD in their chemical mixtures.

Dominion Arms primers are fabricated in Mother Russia. Where standards are becoming more and more strict.

RUAG and CCI primers requires that NO LEAD or Harmfull chemical be used that can cause cancer to the shooter if exposed to the burning primers.

I will explain more in a following post because I forgot my articles at the office. But I did that research with P. Casgrain, Mining Engineer, Expert in Explosive.

Exactly, IF IT IS STeel It will NEVER be attracted by the magnet.

You are right.

Hence it is an inexpensive trick to check if you have bought good quality SSteel. If it is sticking RETURN the product.

Depends. Lots of guys want the SS pins (different grade) that are attracted by magnets for easy pickup and cleanup.

A strong enough magnet will pick up the SS pins no problem. OP is short for Original Poster AKA YOU! AKA is short for Also Known As lol. LOL is short for Laughing Out Loud. Got it? Good.

super I am not familiar with all these SMS things.

So bottom line, have a magnet handy.

What the hell happened !
All thread and pictures erased !
Why ?
Does the .50BMG thread belongs to one man that can do whatever he wants without advising us.
I have posted picture and thread and everything is gone.
I am not posting anymore on that thread about my AI AX50 and ammo report.
This thread will die without no more interesting information.
Disappointment

Under the current circumstances only a fool would of started this thread to begin with.

My apologies if that statement insults someone, but I don't know how else to put it.

If some of you fellas are too young to remember how the last two widespread firearms confiscations/reclassifications affected Canadians, please do some research. It's there for all to see.

You are right

I will not close this thread. Even if I received hate PM or other Post that are directed at me personnally.

Done

But I do think we are in for a huge ride in the next months with respect to the new gun laws.

This sucks I was looking for a 50bmg but it looks like its a rough time. If anyone has some good info for a beginner I'd love to hear it. A lot of this is overmy head.

If you are looking for an entry level .50 BMG

I suggest a one shot rifle. Wolverines, ATRS and other have excellent rifle a price ranging from 3 500 to 4 000 CAN $. I think CanAmmo has some also. Sorry for forgetting other dealers I do not know all of you.

For ammo there is a good deal around at SFRC and ATRS 10 rounds for about 50 CAN $.

Keep your brass, pick them up at the range (after asking) and recycle everything because it is a little bit expensive for starting and after also. Try to have some friends shooting .50BMG. Decreases the cost.
