Looking for an aftermarket stock for my mosin.

^^^Yeah^^^

No big woop.

Take that money and just buy another Mosin.

One should not just own....one.

ATI which can have minor fit problems and no foretip pressure, ramline which is pretty much the same as the ati & archangel, which I have not handled yet.

ATI or archangel seem to be the available choices. I wasn't overly pleased with the ATI, the forend seems somewhat flimsy and is even slightly warped on the one I have. Even after glass bedding a steel rod into it, seems to want to flex near the action now instead.
Boyd's or Numrich might have something in wood, they'll ship it up here no trouble. If you want to get rid of your scratched stock, I'll take it. :)

If I were to get any replacement stock for my Mosin, Id get a boyd's wood stock. Prairie hunter if I wanted to put a scope on it and classic if I intend to use the iron sights. Other than that, I'd be looking on the EE for someone who tacticooled their Mosin and wants to sell the original stock and hasn't yet realized how ####ty the aftermarket stocks are.

I'll probably get an AA stock and 10 round mag for one of my M38s eventually.
I think that stock looks MUCH better with the shorter carbine in it than the overly long pipe of the 91/30.
I just don't like the obstacle of the band removal cause you need to remove the front sight. I know from experience how hard it is to get those pins out of old Russian guns. So I'm not sold on the conversion yet.

You don't have to remove the sight to remove the bands on a M38. At least not on mine...

So they slide right over the sight? I was looking at it last night and I thought it looked like there was just enough room. But I heard different from someone else. Hmmm.

Why not save a pile of money and re-finish the stock it has?
You cannot have as 10 round mag for a Mosin-Nagant. Read the FA.

+1 on the Archangel. Just waiting to pay off my VZ2008 and Bushmaster M17 before I change the stock out on my mosin...

The M44 is the one where the bands won't come off. They can't fit over the bayo lug. The M38 has no lug and they can fit over the sight.
