Hey gun-nutters! I am looking for something:
just put together a Ruger 44 carbine and I want a scope on it.
Got the weaver bases already, but I am looking for a scope like this:
-fixed 2X
-no objective bell
-1" tube
-Leupold is preferred, but no listing on their site.
-standard duplex reticle(no red dot stuff)

Anyone have some suggestions or ideas?

In all honesty, I'm not sure if what you want exists. If you're ok with a 1x there's the leupold prismatic sights, they use proprietary mounts, but attach to Weaver bases, and are very compact. You may have to settle for a 1-4x and 30mm tube. Bushnell makes a nice 1.25-4x in their Elite line with 30mm tube, no bell, and German no. 4 reticle. It has most of the features you're looking for.

Leupold ultra light 2.5x. Only 6 ounces. Has held up well on the 45-70. 4.9" of eye relief.

I am beginning to love the taste of crow....there is one on Leupold's site! So the 45-70 hasn't shaken it to pieces, eh?

No, its held up well. There are other companies out there with similar scopes, but I don't think anyone keeps the weight as low as leupold. I think this scope is comp. to a VX II, just fixed power.

I have the same scope on my guide gun also( thanks again to DMS1) and it is holding up great even with hot loads. The 5" of eye relief is also nice for the recoil.

This Samuel Baker sounds like he leans not on his own understanding.
And yeah, Korth is my first phone call on Monday morning. I am super excited to shoot this little thing!
Someone has machined off the front sight though, and filled in the rear dovetail so a scope is the only option, otherwise I would not be putting one on at all.
