ALFA-PROJ BRNO 9mm revolvers

I got to try out all the grips when I picked mine up. When it was all said and done I actually liked the stockers the best. It turned out later that the area around the top that fit into the web of my hand was a little shy. I filled it in with a bit of bicycle handlebar "cork" tape and now I could not ask for a better fit. There's a picture in my review thread of this little modification. It looks a little sloppy in the picture because I was just relying on the sticky tape on the back of the foam for the trial run. I'll be gluing it on more firmly soon.

Later on when my "To Do" list is smaller I plan on doing a set of custom made wood grips that match the basic black ones. If I have my checkering tools by that time I'll try my hand at this fussy skill. Otherwise it'll be the Dremel and a small ball tip and stippling in a form much like those grips in cableguy's post.

The only thing I don't like with the stock plastic grips is that my middle finger tends to hit the trigger guard when shooting. Anyone else find the same thing and has changing to other grips resolved the issue?

I put the stippled walnut grips on my 9261 and find the same thing.

I can fit my hand to the finger grooves, but it doesn't feel natural to me. I'm going to try rasping down the finger grooves and restippling the grips. Worst thing that happens is I replace them with a set of the standard checkered walnut grips which in hindsight would have been a better fit for my hands. http://www.rustywood.ca/forsalepics/AlfaProj/StandardCheck.jpg

Ya I was thinking of getting the standard walnut grips.

You must have Xlarge glove size hands.

From my own playing with various revolvers if your middle finger is being beaten by the guard it suggests that the grips are too small to give good support in your grip. So you want a fatter set of grips. In particular something with a little more contact area along the rear strap.

I'm looking at buying either the Ruger GP100 or one of these Alfa Project revolvers in .357 Mag. Will the Alfa revolvers accept moon clips, or is the user limited to speedloaders?
