Whats the deal with them quality wise.

Wife loves shooting the 1911 45acp but she said she dont wanna abuse my S&W 1911 PC so i figured get her a SAM.
Im not familiar with them, they seem decent

I have not handled one, i had a Para Gi Expert nd was very nice most ppl hate it.
My S&W is so nice i dont wanna shoot it lol, she likes the feel nd fit of the 1911 the most so thats what she getting
 
I have several 1911 Norinco's and one SAM Omega.
All the recent Norinco's are superior to the SAM, in fit, finish, and reliability.
Accuracy and trigger pull on both, are very good.
Plus the Norinco's are forged, not cast.

uhhhh bull####. I just got one of the new chromed Nork's and it is the same or worse quality then they were 10 years ago. It's sloppy as hell, finish is uneven and not very durable, slide to frame rattles, trigger rattles, rear sight sits crooked, BT was fit by a blind 6 year old child, and the MSH is plastic, and they are MIM'ing parts now...poorly too I might add....both sights, safety, sear, disconnect are all MIM, came with a rusty rear sight free of charge, tool marks everywhere, not one thing impressed me about it at all.
The SAM I have is tight, CNC machined, I can count 4 tool marks on the entire pistol, some MIM parts but very well done, frame is cast.....but I would take a properly cast frame over a ####tily machined chinese forged frame everytime.

I got the new chromed version, too. No problems with mine. You got a lemon. They're far and few between.
At least I can go through a whole clip, without a FTF. Wish I could say the same about my Sammy!

Stick to one statement at a time....fit and finish was what we were discussing. Reliability is a separate discussion.
We all know you are a Nork fanboy and have limited experience in the gun world. Every thread on pretty much every gun you jump in and state "Norinco is better".
Nork is aTHE entry level firearm, they don't make a single clone or copy that is comparable in quality to the real thing or even to other overseas manufacturers. They don't make a single gun that is worth a penny more then they retail for. They work fine, not accurate as they should be out of the box due to the poor fitting and machining.
 
I have a basic SAM, I've run all sorts of ammo through it and don't clean it very often.

I've yet to have an issue or complaint. It's more accurate than I am, and has yet to have a jam, FTF or FTE.

I'd buy another.

my wife loved the 1911 platform but .45 was a little heavy of a load not only for recoil but for cost, so I picked her up one in 9mm and she loves it.
