Looking for an aftermarket stock for my mosin.

ATI or archangel seem to be the available choices. I wasn't overly pleased with the ATI, the forend seems somewhat flimsy and is even slightly warped on the one I have. Even after glass bedding a steel rod into it, seems to want to flex near the action now instead.
Boyd's or Numrich might have something in wood, they'll ship it up here no trouble. If you want to get rid of your scratched stock, I'll take it. :)

If I do find one I like I can hook you up with the old stock.

Sorry for bad quality. Here's what my Mosin now looks like.

I'll probably get an AA stock and 10 round mag for one of my M38s eventually.
I think that stock looks MUCH better with the shorter carbine in it than the overly long pipe of the 91/30.

I think the AA stock beats the rest if your intent is to modernizes the look of the rifle. I've been tempted to replace mine too but not sure how it would look with the long barrel. On an M38 it looks great.

Sunray, can you please stop spreading your BS and misinformation? Have YOU read the FA? Last I checked the Mosin isn't a semi auto...

Mosin Nagant BOLT ACTION RIFLE (not semi-auto by ANY stretch of the imagination) has an internal 5-round magazine.

You are probably thinking of the Tokarev SVT-40 semi auto with a removable 10-round magazine. Remember, magazines for use or sale in Canada are either pinned or internally limited to 5 rounds.

Yes, an ATI or Archangel stock will allow for a removable magazine on the Mosin but, again, magazines for use or sale in Canada are either pinned or internally limited to 5 rounds.

As for why someone in their right mind would modify a Mosin Nagant in such a (barbaric - wink wink) way... I'll leave that for another time. :)

In its original configuration, yes.

I am not thinking of the SVT. Semi automatic centrefire rifles are limited to 5 round magazines. Manually operated firearms have NO LIMIT WHATSOEVER.

Again, wrong.

My gun, my choice. Nothing done was permanent.

Sadly the following is what happens when someone thinks a particular way and fails to properly translate that thought into writing.

I guess I'll just take the fall for that one and keep my trap shut next time.

P.S. Did you NOT see my funny face on the last comment ???

My apologies... I was misinformed.

I did some research and set myself straight.

That is correct, no limit for a manual action centerfire rifle, we have the Archangel Mosin stocks on special for $199 & the LEGAL 10 rd mags. These stocks are very popular due to the low price of both the rifle & the stock kits. You get a Target stock, with detachable mag conversion, fully adjustable cheek riser & length of pull, tunable barrel tensioner or free float barrel for accuracy, all for under $200!

To be honest why would you spend 1-200 on a stock for a 100 dollar rifle? Makes no sense to me. Just find one with a nicer stock.

I'm with you. My 1934 91/30 cost me $150 and I would never dream about putting an aftermarket stock on it. But, to each his own. :)

The rifles shown above do look "tactikool" but just not my cup of tea.

As long as well all have fun shooting !!!
