Hey guys,

I have an opportunity to buy this Browning Citori Special Skeet Grade VII four barrel set but I have absolutely no idea what it's worth. I have been wanting to invest in a set but just haven't had the opportunity. From what I've been told it has 1100 12ga and 500 28ga through it and that's it. Bought new in 2006 and just sat. Any idea of what it's worth? Thanks in advance!

The 2006/7 set was a special run of 75 grade 1 and 75 grade 7. It was different than the norm since it had 28" barrels vs 26 and choke tubes in every gauge. They were not evenly matched and some varied as much as 5 ounces between gauges. Also one ,two (12/20) or all four may have had barrel porting I cannot remember two for sure
They are nice to look at but in all honesty a very very tough sell. They are not seen as collectable at this stage and by serious shooters the 4 barrel sets are seen as obsolete vs tube sets
Thus many which I have seen state side will list them for 7000 then 6000 and after a long listing may sell somewhere in the 5000 range
Also a problem I have with this one is the stock has been modified to my limited knowledge which will decrease value to most potential buyers or maybe it could have been special ordered I am not sure
Cheers

Brownings MSRP on a like set from 2007 is $ 8400.00 .

Browning's MSRP is usually considerably higher than the actual prices asked by the retailers. As for the gun in question, I have seen new unfired grade VIIs listed at $6500, but they stayed listed for a long time.

6500 will easily get you a mint grade v11 4 barrel set and maybe even unfired as stubblejumper has seen. The last unfired I seen went for 7000 but guns are more expensive down east
5500-6000 seems to be the selling price for used

Was this for a single gun or the four barrel set?

Four barrel set. As an example of Brownings MSRP being unrealistic, I purchased a three barrel Citori 625 Feather sub gauge set, last year. The MSRP was $5869, and I paid $4600 including GST. The dealer was originally asking $5200.

How long ago was this? I haven't seen one anywhere. Anyone know where one is? I have a couple issues with the condition of this one. Can this bluing be fixed? Thanks for the help guys.

I am going to say probally 18 months ago I seen one for sale. How long have you been looking and also have you been watching for one state side. I almost bought one new when they came out since I was always sorry I sold my vintage 4 barrel set so keep an eye out for them. Keep watching they do surface but remember numbers were low so not every day
You say only 1100 rounds?? assuming that is the 12ga barrel set and 1600 total . Wear like that from what I can see NOT in my mind
Expensive to get fixed and shure should sure drop the value even more. Did you find out if he had the stock reworked also

Yeah the adjustable comb was done by Crosby in Vancouver.

I'll keep an eye open for another set. He's asking too much for the condition it's in and I couldn't live with it in that condition. Thanks for the help guys.
