Good day folks, I was hoping one of you might be able to answer this for me. My son is graduating from his Police program :dancingbanana:and I was looking at getting him an engraved NP 29 for a grad gift. My question, is there enough space to have "POLICE FOUNDATIONS 2014" engraved on the slide without interfering with existing markings?

I think there is room on the other side of the slide

But I would get an unmarked can am 45 if I was to engrave

I'd consider a little better quality pistol to do something like that. Perhaps the Shooter Arms Manufacturing Omega 6 on sale at Wolverine Supplies for $450.

Thanks for the input. The reason i choose the np29 is i owned one when he was a wee lad and it is the first pistol he ever shot as a six year old. I foolishly sold that one about 9 years ago. Hind sights 20/20.

I got a SAM Omega 6 from Wolverine, for $399. Only because Norinco doesn't sell a single stack .40.
Some day I hope to get the SAM running as well as a Norc, but I have my doubts.

Really wow, that's cool. Go look at the 40 cal for $450 :jerkit:

The NP29 is a 9mm. :jerkit:

If you guys want to have a :jerkit: 'fest take it to PM's.

Don't hi-jack this thread with your :jerkit: .

Back on topic.... yes, there is room to get the slide of a Norc NP29 engraved.... if you have it done on the opposite side of the slide between the rear & forward serrations. As long as the font is a reasonable size.

Thank you

If you are going to do custom engraving you might want to consider de-horning any sharp parts on the gun and blanking out some of the factory stamps and engravings.
Then re-finish with your choice, pakerizing, blueing, gunpaint or hard chrome.
