2nd female coyote this week, not mangy but worn from breeding?

Shot this one pushing, along with another female I got a chance at on the way to work this week. Both were very poor looking hides. Not actually missing any hair, but no guard hairs, all the fur was less than 1/2" long. I've seen one other one with a bare/worn patch on the back from the male during breeding. Will they wear done all the fur on a female?

True of the spine shot! Small dogs look farther, makes even the seasoned shooter hold upper dog.

I think she is suffering from some Red Tide ....not to mention a high spinal shot too ;)

Lots of rain here on the coast today, would make tracking them a challenge.

It would suspect that it is a juvenile under a year old. I have a red husky (looks almost the same as that yote), that had similar fur until she became older than a year old. The outer protective fur is a sign of older age.

That would make sense, but I shot a couple juvenile males and they were nice and fluffy, is there a difference between male/female?
