Basic 1894 Saddle Ring Carbine. The saddle ring stud and ring have been removed at some point. Rear sight is not original, should be a carbine ladder type sight or a two or three leaf express in that period. Front sight blade looks to have been changed as well. Repaired butt hurts the value and not a lot of blue left pretty much a grey gun. If the bore is good maybe a $400 gun in my area tops.

Looks like it was drilled for some kind of crazy scope mount on the side as well.

Kinda reminds me of trying to find a stud in the wall when the wife wants a picture hung.

Click on the photo, then zoom it in a couple times.
Rust pits.

OK, patches of pitting, not holes.
I think the $400 mentioned above would be on the generous side.

Yes, $400 plus shipping is higher than it would sell for on the EE, I am quite sure. He doesn't mention the bore, but if it is a good shooting bore, $400 shipped might be reasonable on the EE, but I think it would probably sell for a bit less than that.

I was going to offer a straight up trade on a sporter Lee-Enfield, but I think I'm better off keeping the Lee-Enfield.

Even on E.E., I think the going rate for a gun in this condition, would be $250, tops.
But the 100 bucks, Johnny Y Cunnuck, paid for one at auction, seems about right.

Sold for $350 plus shipping...in ten minutes.
I guess Mike bought it, and made a couple of hundred bucks on the deal.
