I'm curious as I might pick one of these up when I get back to Canada. Is there an actual mechanical/functional difference b/w the vz58 and vz2008 or is it just because one is "American-made"? Are the parts interchangeable?
Same gun, different manufacture.
Perfect.. Thanks. Love the design and while my primary dream is the AK (historical significance and the aftermarket), I also recognize the superiority of the VZ platform. Plus, it's the closest thing to it that we can get.
Um, no. Brand new parts.
The banned ones were made from surplus parts. Hence the converted auto claim.
Just ordered one at my LGS direct from North Sylva. Didn't want the M4 stock, but that's all they had available in a chrome lined barrel.
Still exactly zero evidence given by the RCMP to support that claim BTW. Just sayin
It has always been well known that the CZ858 series was built on unused full-auto receivers. I assume it is the "unused" part that has been affected and caused all this.
Other than a valmet hunter or m78. Or possibly the Interarms Sporter if it ever comes around haha.
One costs more than what I'd have paid for my entire "arsenal" and added a VZ58, while the other one's a cheque in the mail![]()
My CSA came in today. But there is no marking indicating a chrom lined barrel. How can I tell? Does it have "C" at the end of the serial number?
Except that is what wolverine and canam have said. So I'm likely to stick with their knowledge on that specific subject.
Made from receivers that were never assembled, but intended for full auto builds. Those builds never happened, the guns were never completed as full autos, never fired full auto once. This is not a secret, do a search.
If a gun never fired full auto, or was able to fire full auto, how can it be a converted from full auto to semi auto? At one time this interpretation was ok. Now the lab says it isn't. This is the screw over. Changing the rules after playing by them for a while.
Found my 308 m78 for 2800 bucks. You gotta dream big haha. Had it for 6 months now.
Valmets here are over priced. The key is to do your shopping south of the border and import. 7.62x39 prices will still be high, but not Canadian high.
