Perfect.. Thanks. Love the design and while my primary dream is the AK (historical significance and the aftermarket), I also recognize the superiority of the VZ platform. Plus, it's the closest thing to it that we can get.

M4 stock is easy to switch out. I did that with my CSA 11.5 barrel version. Got a beaver barf stock, all the metal and the bolt. Sanded the plastic wood to clean it up, hit it with some flat black and all was good. Matches the factory hand guard. Shoulders really well too, very mp5-ish feeling with the fixed stock and short barrel.
Plus the buffer tube and stock can fit an AR of course, easy to sell or use on an AR build if so inclined.

Except that is what wolverine and canam have said. So I'm likely to stick with their knowledge on that specific subject.
Made from receivers that were never assembled, but intended for full auto builds. Those builds never happened, the guns were never completed as full autos, never fired full auto once. This is not a secret, do a search.
If a gun never fired full auto, or was able to fire full auto, how can it be a converted from full auto to semi auto? At one time this interpretation was ok. Now the lab says it isn't. This is the screw over. Changing the rules after playing by them for a while.

My CSA came in today. But there is no marking indicating a chrom lined barrel. How can I tell? Does it have "C" at the end of the serial number?
One costs more than what I'd have paid for my entire "arsenal" and added a VZ58, while the other one's a cheque in the mail

Found my 308 m78 for 2800 bucks. You gotta dream big haha. Had it for 6 months now.
Mine also has no indication it is chrome lined. I checked the bore with a small LED flashlight and noticed that there is a small "lip" of chrome around the inside of the crown while looking down it.
Hopefully this is enough to go by.
This is what I meant to get at. If the receivers were never turned into a complete full auto rifle, there should be no legal difficulty converting them into a semi auto if I read things correctly. The lab has not come forward with how they determined that these particular receivers were once fully assembled automatic rifles, which would make them converted.
Not sure about the 308 platform but I was under the impression that the 7.62x39 Valmets go for about $5000. Too rich for my blood. Will see if my dad has any left over highly placed buddies in the army next time I go to the old country... If I'm real lucky I'll get to shoot these 2 babies, equipped with fun switches:

Eventually and most likely AFTER the VZ, when I get back to Canada.. Current immediate plans are for me to move to South America for a while and for now, when it comes to long guns centerfire autoloaders are a legal no-no. Planning on getting a handgun carry permit and an Austrian Barbie in .45ACP, out of sheer spite
