I bought a 12.5" barrel from Hical in the past for a pack gun and decided that I wanted chokes. Instead of buying the more expensive Dlask barrel I sent it off to Casey Brouwer at Tactical Ordnance. It was a bit of a gamble as I was unsure that this barrel could be tapped given it's thinner wall thickness at the muzzle. Casey was able to tap it no problem at all for Truchokes. Not only was his customer service excellent, answering my many questions very quickly but his workmanship and turnaround time was top notch. I am very pleased with the end result and would highly recommend him.

Cheers.

So, how much did that run you? Seems to me you have Chinese quality at dlask price. Maybe my math is off though.

Total cost so far is $250. I believe Dlask is $250 (on sale price) for untapped barrel so + tap cost. I'm ahead about $90 so your math is indeed off. Regardless, this thread isn't about that. It is about a good source for those looking for someone to tap their barrels.

Cheers.

Looks good cdncowboy, my Grizzly is cylinder bore with no choke tubes. I would like the option & having it tapped seems reasonable at that price!

Cheers

Thanks Jay. Having a choke is ideal for sure. If you are looking for a tactical close quarters spread then put cylinder bore in and if you throw it in your pack or truck for hunting then throw an IC or mod in it. Real nice option.

My math was bang on... You'll note you've listed the same numbers. Joe is very easy to deal with and I'm sure he would "tap' a barrel for free. Face it, you played yourself.

Nice, I don't think I've ever heard a bad word about Cassey.

How does it shoot with that little brass bead? I'd be tempted to solder a pedestal on that barrel so the bead has more meat and a bit more height.

What was turn around time and price to tap, if you dont mind? I have a retro 870 Police build that could use a choke.

I shipped the barrel on the 11th of the month and received it back at my home on the 26th. Quick lead time. The tap price was $90 + tax.

Cheers.

With the small brass bead it shoots about 3" high. I have machined a solid brass pedestal with blade front sight which I will JB weld over the current bead to bring it to bang on. The new brass sight looks really unique and will be great in the bush.
