I have heard that a bunch of these rifles have been found in a warehouse overseas and may be arriving soon unless the Yanks buy them first!

A dealer who shall remain nameless until they get them, as I do not want people pestering them with phone calls about when they are going to have them when they don't have them yet.

would this be a typical scrubed k98 void of all original markings an restamped with yugo crest and serial# matched with all new numbers.Serial # will move from left side of receiver to right side and another on the bolt handel

By "converted" what do you mean? Converted to what? Re-chambered for a different round, or just re-arsenal/refurbed?

The Yugoslavs built K98's for Germany and themselves. No conversions involved. In any case, don't believe any story until you see whatever it's about. Stories about long lost warehouses full of stuff abound and are 99% horse hockey.

When I was a kid it was stories of crated up army motorcycles in grease to be had for a song.

Never ever saw one or heard of anyone getting one though.

And according to rumour we were supposed to have enough M1 Garands to fill our boots with before SHOT show....

And for the Icing on the Cake with the Cherry on Top, in the Salt Mines in Russia (Just a side note - Some Russian words are not easy to pronounce, but make sure that you pronounce the name of the country Russia correctly when you speak Russian. Russia is “Rossiya” - Россия (ross-SEE-ya) in Russian), there are crates upon crates of G43's and K43's...

I heard it was pre-packed crates of lend lease Harley WLAs, with a G43 and a Garand in scabbards, with an MG42 pintle mounted on a sidecar. With a artillery issued Luger for backup.

Yugo Mausers might be more plausible, but I can always dream the dream.

I hope it's not Marstar. That would mean they'll be here in six years and priced at $899. That's "the Marstar difference".

Still waiting on the Yugo 8x57mm they promised some two years ago (I ended up buying elsewhere!).
