Shorten PAL Approval Times

Is it normal to wait 29 days and still not have my application show up online?

When I check online it used to say no application matching provided information found, but now it is saying operation failed, does that mean anything?

Tried calling in but they are taking "too many calls"
Yup, Mine didnt show up until 40 days from being sent (31 days after being received according to my online status)

Today, Day 90 : RCMP office response was "You're application is now with your Province CFO for Final review.

They have been saying the same thing for a month and a half...

Anyonw knows if we can we request a god damn refund ? I'd rather find another sport than not know when i'll be able to start going to the range. This makes no fu**ing sens. Let's suppose they call my references in two weeks, + another couple weeks to receive it in the mail, that's AT LEAST a month from now until i get the card... considering the fact that they received my request on Dec. 12th, That would make 4 months MINIMUM wait until i can officially subscribe to my local Range. This is seriously retarded.

its just luck butterpants, though I'm sure bein in Montreal doesn't help

Long waiting for PAL

I waited 4 months and called a few times. The last call I made to the RCMP I explained that it had been double the 45 day suggestion that they give. She put me through to the CFO in my area. She put me on hold to review my application, she came back on the phone and said there is no reason why she couldn't approve me....and she did. They didn't call a reference, nothing. From that point it took 10 days in the mail, 4-6 to get the card actually printed and the remainder in snail mail.

My account did not register online for several months. I just kept calling. I regret not taking RPAL at the same time. Now I will have to wait another 4 months to get that! BS

Province: B.C.

App mailed: Jan. 14th
App received: Jan. 20th
App showed online: Feb. 14th
Called in on Feb. 28th to check status was told that it was at the reference stage and to have one reference call in
Reference called in on Feb 28th

Called in on Mar.11th to check status, was told application was at the provincial cfo

38 Working days / 52 days total so far, this is an expired Pal/Rpal reapplication so they are pretty much treating it as a new app from what i can tell

Have you called in to see what's going on ?

I've been trying to get through but keep getting his voicemail. UPDATE: I just got through and spoke with the CFO in charge of my application. Answered some questions and was told he would try to finalize everything today. I'll check the status in a couple days.

Man my application was recieved november 27th and its been with quebec cfo for a long ass time they wont tell me anything

I filed a complaint to the Protecteur du Citoyen today (Quebec Ombudsman). We pay those lazy asses with our taxes, and on top we pay an 80$ "administration fee" for our license to be issued. Yet, nothing is being done. I don't care if it's "firearms" related or not, if i pay for something i expect it to be done, otherwise i consider it stealing. At this point i don't even care if i get it or not, i'm just going all in against this whole procedure. This is madness.

You go to Tim Hortons, you ask for a coffee and donut. They take your money, and then make you wait.. you ask :
-Where is my coffee ?
-Yes sir your order is being processed, just a minute.
5 minutes later you ask : Hi, is my coffee going to be ready soon ?
-Yes sir, we serve the clients in order in which we received them.
10 minutes later : Hi, i'm just wondering if you entered my order correctly because i'm still waiting for my coffee..
-Sir, Please stop asking us when your coffee will be ready, when it will be ready we will let you know.

I Think i made my point.

I think at this point it will be enough for the customer to ask to speak to the manager.
Ombudsman it is ..

They received yours exactly the same time they received mine, wish it would show up online already

UPDATE: just checked status, application has been approved and licence has been issued.
So ,in my experience I was honest in full detail about my personal history. I called often but only when they told me to call back not every two days or whatever. Nice on the phone.
If anyone has any questions regarding what my personal history record was, I will gladly share that information so you don't have to feel like you're the only one. We all make mistakes. I learned from mine. I still got approved. I don't wish harm on anyone and I'm thankful they recognized that, even without ever meeting me. My advice, keep reading the tips on this site. I wholeheartedly thank the people who created this site ,it is a great tool for us.

Bu***#### ... This site says :
Call often (every other day or so), that's what i did. Their response to that : Please stop calling, it's not changing anything.
Get your references to call in, and call in yourself for your interview. I did. Their response : We will call you, we can't transfer you to the group that does interviews.

In other words, whatever you're doing won't change anything.

Which site are you checking your application with? The one that requires a secure sign in or the one I linked in my timeline? (https://secure.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/eCFISIWS/editLicenceQueryAuthentication.do) I was using the secure sign-in one and getting the same messages you were. I only knew my application was entered by my credit card being charged. So I phoned in to get my application number. I found that second link after - it's much simpler to use.

Seems like it's just us from Quebec that's getting the long wait, plus we have the Loi 9 that's only in Quebec it's really bad here...

I hope things change for you soon, it's very frustrating. I waited 5 months. In British Columbia . When it finally does come in though you forget all about the wait. Stay positive bud.
