Broke it in today by melting down 400 pounds of strange lead and squirts from the swaging presses, turned a bunch of scrap into twenty five 15 pound down rigger cannon balls........figure another 75 of them should get me through the season......

This pot is easy to control the flow on, even with over 200 pounds of molten lead in it, pouring 1 pound ingots is a breeze once you get used to the valve, this is going to make processing my other 5000 pounds a breeze............:dancingbanana:

I had the torch at the ready just incase as the spout is a good 5 inches long, to my surprise it never froze up, with the burner located right behind it I was thinking of cutting the wind shield to allow more heat out onto the spout......totally not required

Looks awesome! Is the valve a piece of threaded rod sharpened on the tip to mate with a seat on the bottom of the pot? I've been planning on making one of these to process about 1200 pounds of range scrap and I think I'm going to "borrow" your valve idea.

that is exactly what it is, with a tab welded to the side of the pot and a threaded nut welded to that for the ready rod to thread in and out......
I'll have to snap a picture of that set up from the inside of the pot rather then the outside
