And I'm gonna buy not one AR, but TWO!

Probably going to snap up a used Ar15 or a Nork (because I'm cheap, and they run) but I'm thinking about an AR10 for gits and shiggles too.

Got any recommendations for one on the cheap?

PM me if you want to try a PWS and see what you get for the extra money. I'll never buy a cheap AR again. 4000 rounds with no failures other than when someone else shoots it and doesn't seat the mag fully, not the fault of the rifle though.
 
I'd suggest the dpms g2 308.
If you do a bit of research on them, you'll find they're higher quality than the old dpms', and are closer in size and weight to an ar15 than a ar10.
Heck of a buy at their current pricing, and this is hard to say, but I won't be surprised to see lmt and kac follow their lead to a smaller frame 308 ar...
 
Set a price and go find one on EE that has all the features you like for that price, with the money you save give a serious thought on tossing a few dollars towards the NFA, so you get to keep that rifle in the future ;)
 
Why not get a FAMAE SG542? Sure it's more expensive than the others, but you'd have some NR .308 battle rifle goodness and still be able to get a Norc AR and come in under $4k for both.
 
Handled the SG-542 & 540 - not worth the going rate based on what I've seen.

I'd go the other way - get a decent or higher end .223/5.56 and a Norinco M305

Something like a KAC SR-15 and a Norc M305 wouldn't be a bad option either. It really depends on what you want to do with them.
