Surplus Garands from South Korea

In today's episode of "Things That Will Never Happen".....

I would say if you were going to buy 500,000 M1 garands they will be about 3$ ea purchase point. by the time the palm grease is spread around, they are sorted, pkged, shipped ,landed in Canada and ready to be sold, into them for perhaps 2-300$ that is a tremendous investment in capital and time

I missed out on this last time ,,,,,,,,,, so I'll take 1 this time IF they get here. I also heard about this some time ago. Even though X military
guns can't go back to USA ,,,,,,,,some people where saying these where some kind of historic item ???????

Hope they make it here !!!! ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Frank

I think that a more likely scenario will be the importation of some budget priced rifles from the Czech Republic, with the full blessing of the RCMP & CBSA. Oh wait.........

Garands that are plentiful and cheap by the standards of todays $1400 shooter grade stuff is like a wet dream.

And then you wake up to find that some bugger had put your hand in a bowl of warm water instead. :(

I did buy some en blocs, though, Just In Case.

I know that the Garand is in 30-06, but I heard some of them were made in .308. were they made that way or are they re-barreled that way?

You mean re-chambered. The barrel wouldn't change. The question is, can you just tweak the headspace after reaming, or do you need a shorter action?
