Mossberg 500/590 Info

Has anyone mounted a hogue forend on a new 20" 590A1? I'm wondering if it requires a lot of modification to the forend...

I put one on my 500TR. It's got the heavy walled breachers barrel. The houge forend required a little bit of work with the dremel to fit the bbl correctly, but once I got it buzzed down some she's a vast improvent on handling and felt recoil.

Anyone???

I have a 590A1 20" Blackwater and no modifications were necessary for the Hogue forearm when I swapped it in to replace the OEM railed foregrip. It was certainly an easy swap with with the Mossberg-specific mag tube wrench, but you can Macgyver it if you're careful.

You may have long since found the answer you were looking for elsewhere, but better late than never. Good luck!

Looking for a location on the following parts:
GG&G (could go for an S&J too)
Wolff extra power magazine springs
Magpul buttstock and foreend
M7 Ontario bayonet on the cheap

If your OEM pistol grip "bites" on recoil…try out the ShockWaveTechnologies Raptor Grip.
A quality product that makes your PGO SG comfortable to shoot and controls are easily accessible.

Edit: Ordered direct from ShockWave for under $40 to my door.

Any online dealers for the Raptor grip?

Question - is this magazine tube / barrel gap of any concern? Just enough to fit a card into..

So I have a Mossberg 500 Flex Marinecote... I was wondering if it is compatible with all those Mossberg 500 Drum mag conversion kits? I was told by a Mossberg representative that it is, and then told by Adaptive Tactical that it is not....

"Thank you for the email inquiry and your interest in the Sidewinder Venom Conversion Kit. The kits are designed to function with Mossberg 590, 500 and 88 series shotguns. The kits are compatible with 5/6 shot tube, 2 ¾” shells and 18.5” barrel configurations. The components of the kit replace all the factory shotgun parts below the barrel and in front of the receiver. Unfortunately, since the 500 Flex Marinecote is chambered in 3” and comes with either a 26” or 28” barrel the Sidewinder will not work with your gun."

Um... Are all Mossberg 500's and 88's and 590's not chambered for 3"? Why would that affect the compatibility with Drum magazine conversions??

Thanks in advance for any advice or info!

EDIT: Nevermind, they just emailed me back saying it should work!

Just got my mossy 500 persuader and was wondering if anybody know where i can buy an upgrade for the bead sight.

Anyone else find that the parkerized 590A1 finish scratches way easier than the 500 blue/matte blue? I'm certain it's not built for beauty, but it seems that the marinecoat and parkerised finish is not as durable as a blued one.
