Just wondering how rare these are. I've been reading up on them and it seems they're the cats ass. Did any make it to the civilian market? How about the ones on the Colt "Made in Canada" ARs?
I'd sure like to get my hands on one if it's possible, but what are the chances of actually finding one?

I got into the forum search and google last night and apparently some Colt rifles in the states have Diemaco parts (Uppers marked with "D", lowers marked "Made in Canada", BCGs, etc.). How would one tell if the barrel is Diemaco/Colt Canada, especially now that Diemaco IS Colt Canada. Are they still marked with a "D", or are they now marked the same as U.S. Colt barrels? Or did they ever even make barrels for the U.S. market?
I am not too interested in another manufacturer. I have the money to afford the premium a Diemaco would likely cost, but wouldn't mind knowing what I'm up against and what to look for.
Thanks!

20yrs ago it was the cats ass , as you put it, but its nothing spl now.
the reason you cant buy them is the equipment that makes the bbls is owned by the Canadian government.

This is not true at all. Colt Canada makes barrels for Canada as well as at least two commercial manufacturers in the US. The Canadian Government does not own the equipment.

It would be great to have colt Canada 20" semi's after the Blaney moves the AR to NR, where it should be due to the fact it is a rifle!
