receipe to make 12Ga blank for line thrower

I'm looking for a receipe to roll my own 12Ga blank for use in a line thrower. The line thrower is a Franchi Lancia Sagole and the pamphlet call for "propelling charges for 40 meter. (yellow)" and "propelling charges for 70 meter. (green)"
The case are 12Ga x 1-3/4" (45mm).

A line thrower, in my opinion is something to assist you to get a cable / line or whatever, into places where you couldn't normally reach without a ladder, hanging from a helicopter, etc....
I'm into shortwave radio (the original internet:)) and the best antennas are straight wires, high in the air. My way to get the wires high are to use the trees in my area....my line thrower of choice is a fishing rod with some 40 lb test and a 1.5 oz weight...shoot that over top of the tree and pull the cable into place.

A Gunnut that spends some of his time casting a fishing rod up into the trees......wouldn't you want me for a neighbour:redface:??
 
We used line throwers in the navy. It sent a 1" rope from one ship to another. With that 1" rope attached to a steel cable,
The receiving ship pulled across the heavier cable. This cable was secured to winches and pulled taut (tight in navy lingo)
Then supplies could be sent from one ship to the other via the cable. Easy as long as both ships remained parrallel during
the transfer. Veer one or two degrees and watch a steel cable snap at bullet speed. Pretty dangerous looking back now.....
 
I'm guessing your hooped since this is such a small market no company will make the hulls or research the data for such a load. Are the factory blanks still available?

i would just cut down high brass shells to the required height and test out various loads.
 
you are all right; it was originally use to throw line between ship for rescue operation, to overcome natural obstacle or to reach any place of difficult access. I bought it long time ago as a collector piece and never use it. All the load that come with the kit was shot before I buy it. I don't want to play the guessing work to find the proper load since I will not use it intensively. The picture in the instruction pamphlet show what look like cardboard with short brass base shell, I don't think the full brass 12Ga shell will be needed. A guy suggest to cut a clay target shotshell at 1-3/4" long, removing the pellet, leaving only the back part of the gas piston! Let me know your opinion on that?
