So, like the title says, I'm looking for one powder that I can use to reload 9mm Luger, .38 Special and .45 ACP.

I don't shoot in competition, so I'm not looking for 'the best load in the world' for any of these calibers, I just want something that I can reload my own rounds with to make plinking cheaper.

Any suggestions?

Suggestions on grain weight of the bullets to properly accompany the powder would be appreciated also. (I already have quite a few 158 grain bullets for the .38 special, so it will need to work with them.)

Thanks!

Tightgroup, w231/hp38, unique would be my top 3 for all 3.

200gr or 230gr for the 45acp

158gr for the 38

124gr or 147gr for 9mm

Red-Dot & Universal are other good ones to consider....

Alliant Promo will duplicate Red Dot ballistics for less money in these cartridges. I've used up a couple jugs of it and it's a good performer. About $110/8 pounds so about $14/ pound. Tough to beat pricewise. As a bonus it's also a good powder for 12 ga. target loads.

! load for 2 of your 3 rounds,

Win 231
9mm 125gr LRN @ 4.3 grains
45acp 230gr LRN @ 4.3 grains

I also use it for .357 mag and .44mag but dont remember the charge off the top of my head.

700X is what I used for a while as I had quite a bit on hand at that time.. always worked well for me.

I used 700X in . .38, lots of it. I also use it in light rifle loads, e.g. 5gr 700X under a 93 gr Lee cast in 30-30. 1200 loads per pound.
