Fellow gun nutz,
My "uber mall ninja" AR is almost complete and requires the finest BUIS. I am currently running MBUS and want to know if there is a far superior product in metal flip up sights. The price is very high so i want to be sure it is not just advertising that brings up the price. What is your experience?
Thanks!

Just picked up the back folding battle sight from Troy the other day. I haven't had it for long, only really sighted it in and put a couple rounds down range with it but so far so good. Feels high quality and durable. The button to flip the sight down is stiff, as is the folding mechanism on the sight itself, but I might just need to break it in.

Knights Armament normal size 300m or 600m version flip up front sight and backup rear sight. Pretty sure that along with the M5 RAS is what is issues to U.S. troops.

Some would say go with 300m version since if you need your backup sights, you need solid 300m combat zeroed sights not the finicky adjustable ones that can get knocked out of zero.

Don't buy Troy products. They employ one of the snipers from Ruby Ridge. There are other sets of BUIS from other companies that will work just as well and don't involve supporting that kind of people.

Not disputing your post but do you have a name and supporting evidence, I would like to know more.

I haven't shot them but they are very nice and the trit option of the front post is awesome. However, I chose to buy Knights BUIS as I liked the "match" front post and adjustability of the rear.

I'm more of an ARMS guy, #40-L-SP for me.

Samson's are pretty good also. The ones Brownell's sells are spring loaded for deployment. Non spring loaded sights also come standard on the Ruger SR-556FB/C and SR-762. Samson customer service is near the top of the list. Troy even though the BUIS are excellent, once you tell them that you are from Canada, they don't want to talk to you or have anything to do with you anymore.

I tend to believe most of us are using Red Dots/Holographic sights so as much as I like the quality I would opt for the Mapgul BUIS Gen2 because its light a decent price and I would rarely use it to be honest.
In saying that if you are military, deployed somewhere Or as a civi using Iron sights most of the time them I would go with the higher end sights.

huh. Ruby Ridge. that's interesting morning reading.

I've owned troys, both fixed and flip up, but could never justify the price of them. especially if you've got a good optic that means your chances of using them are 0.1%
