S&W model 28

It is hard to tell for sure as the pictures are very dark but overall the gun looks ok with some blueing loss. One thing that hurts the value is that it does not have the org. grips and these are not cheap to buy or that easy to find.

I would say on the low end $450.00 and the high end $600.00. I think a fair price would be $500.00 Just my two cents on this.

The pictures are so contrasty that they are all but useless. Get more light on it from table lamps or the like and use a medium colour bath towel as the background instead of a white tile. The tile is confusing the camera's brain and making the gun come out much too dark.

$500 would give you a quick sale. $550 would go in a few days. Price it at $600 and you may need to bump it a time or two until the right person comes along and offers you $550 or so.
 
Thanks for the better pictures. I'd say $500-$550 for the revolver since the blueing's a little worn.

550 is high for that finish, 400 would be fair, depending on lock up and trigger. Pity the factory grips are gone. I paid less then that for a M27 in better condition, which is a higher priced gun.
 
C&L, you're low for pricing from the last few years. Having a fan's interest in the Model 27's and 28's I've watched most of the sales on the EE. Gun's of this condition in the $550 range seldom last long enough to need a bump. And at $500 are almost always gone before needing a first bump. Of course what the seller accepts as an offer is never said but I suspect that when sold in the first week or so that the price is typically at or darn close to the asking price.

Radioactiveman, unless you really hate revolvers you may want to try this gun out before you sell it. The 28's are fantastic shooters with great accuracy with everything from soft wadcutter target loads up to full house .357Mag rounds. The grips may not fit you all that well, they don't fit me work a darn, but those are easily changed.
 
A Smith 28 isn't a pistol. It's a revolver. Discontinued in 1985 too. In great condition(Hard to tell that one's condition) $500ish would be reasonable. The issue with 28's is the size of the frame. 'N' frames require big hands. So you'd have to find a buyer who wants one.
 
BC, you are correct, i haven't purchased on in 4-5 years, so my pricing is probably wacked, FWIW, I thought i was driving the get away car when i purchased the one i have for the price i did. :)
