who has a boyds stock

I would recommend getting the checkering added. That's the only downside to the Boyd's stock I own. Its a little slick to hold on. The quality is first rate. I wish they offered magnum barrel contours so I don't have to sand the channel bigger.

Sadly, I just bought a set of Remington 870 stock and forend, but I forgot to get the checkering. I called Boyd's, and they'll take mine back and send out a checkered one, but after shipping and exchange rate, it's gonna cost me a fair bit.

Does anybody know of any gunsmiths or woodworkers who could do really nice checkering? I'm trying to decide if it's worth the cost of mailing them back to Boyd's...

It ain't worth the cost to do that....Big time bend over on that option. Nothing really wrong with a smooth stock as we have many options for grip-gloves to overcome that minor detail.

I prefer uncheckered stocks... I like being able to minutely shift my hands into a comfortable, torque-free grip... I have never lost my grip on a gun in 40+ years of shooting.

I have one, a blaster

I just installed my forest camo LH thumb hole FW On my Tikka T3 stainless. The fit was perfect right out of the box. I'm really happy with it.

I just ordered two of them. One Jacaranda and one Sky. They will be going on my Winchester Model 70 Extreme SSs;one in. 270 Winchester and one in. 338 Winchester Magnum. I can hardly wait!
