Hi there,

So, I have managed to fully field strip my ruger 22/45 lite. Its filthy so I need to do a full detail strip of the frame. Does anyone have a good youtube video to share that can help me because I am coming up empty!

Thanks

You did not need to fully detail strip the gun. A hosing down with brake cleaner flushes away the fouling and deposits. Any tough spots can be scrubbed with a narrow long nylon bristle brush or an old toothbrush. Then just detail oil through the openings and you're done.

Good luck, i broke mine putting it back together and i don't want to bring a 400 pistol to a 100/hr gunsmith to fix it, so its broken...
Never buying anything ruger ever again...

Putting the lower frame guts back in is a little tricky but it's far from impossible.

The biggest trick is the spring for the sear. But if you get onto You Tube and use "ruger mark III assembly" as your key words you'll get a bunch of videos. Mine went "CLICK!" as I took it apart and it was very confusing to put together. At least one video and an online writeup with really good pictures helped me get it right. Don't ask which they were now. That was over a year back. And it came up with a simple google search using those same keywords.

That's what I am afraid will happen. I did what BC Rider said and flushed it out and let's it cure overnight lol. We will see how it is today.

so sell it as is and put the money towards something else- there;s only 2 guns that should NEVER be disassembled in my books- the norinco m93 and the Remington nylon 66- and I have both of those- as far never buying ruger again, it's like saying i'm never buying gmc cause I had trouble with my chev- rugers are one of the strongest guns out there and give good value for the money- chances are you've misassembled it rather than actually broke something-
