Hey all.

Recently I disassembled my Cooey 600, and lost a part.

Funny story actually. I lost the main screw that holds the stock to the action, so I took out the special nut that holds it all in, in the hopes I could take it to Epps so they could find me a new screw. Now the nut is gone and I found the screw in a drawer. f:P:2:

So yeah.... here I am.

I ordered the part unseen from Numrich, and they sent me the old nut/bolt combo from the Model 60, the one that screws into the old style long trigger guard.

Please excuse the crappy vid I found, just showing you what I'm talking about:

Skip ahead to 1:50 and you'll see what I mean. Only mine was round...

Is there a technical name for this part? Where can I find one? Most gun shops seem to come up empty.

Thanks!

According to my 1969 parts book they called it an assembly stud. Shows the same number for the model 60 and 600. However, that would be for guns that have the screw such as yours, not the knurled nut that you loosen to remove the action like the older models had. The original numbers for your gun were 6025 for the stud and 6024 for the screw.

I have one laying around for the older style but it won't work for yours unless maybe you found a knurled nut and change yours to the older style. You could maybe try western gun parts or post a wtb on the EE. I'm sure someone has one kicking around.

I was thinking of just ordering the old style trigger guard the next time I buy a bunch of Garand stuff from Numrich.

Or to continually plod around gun shows/shops until I find one.

Not to hijack here but is there any reliable source for parts for the 600s In Canada ... I need a trigger trigger pin and maybe a rear sight .. Lastly the trigger parts though

Use a nail. Quite seriously. The pins were nothing but wire. I have rebuilt several and made my own pins. The same goes for most makes of the lower grade of firearms.
