In the past I use to read nothing but hunting magazines on big game. Times have changed for me, don't get me wrong, I still enjoy a few days of big game hunting, however it is seldom that I read hunting magazines. My favorite magazine is "Rifle and Rifle Shooter." Plenty of great information on the latest firearms, ammo, bullets, etc. What do you guys like to read?

I used to get Outdoor Canada, but got pissed off when they ran a contest...not open to Quebec residents...for a caribou hunting trip to ...where else.....QUEBEC.

Won't renew subscription anytime soon...

I quit magazines quite a while ago. With the exception of a few writers most of what's written in them is behind the times and very basic. A bit of time on the internet yields much more useful information and keeps one up to date on the most current things going on.

Thanks for the link, pretty sure it was a Quebec thing and not the company, now we know.
This is common with many contests. Not just Outdoors Canada, this is why

Wild Sheep and Fair Chase are two I always read. I get most of the Canadian magazines as well and of course Safari and the African Hunting Gazette.Always find something interesting in all of them.

Most of the Hunting magazines are poorly written and repetitive. Only about 10% of the hunting/gun writers actually have any writing talent, most are not very good with the English language.

I like African Outfitter, African Hunting Gazette and Sports Afield. African Outfitter is a great hunting magazine with none of the US product placement and advertising in the articles. It's just about hunting and hunters...the way it should be. The others are top notch magazines, Sports Afield is good especially in the years since Diana Rupp took over.
