I have been looking for a model 27/28 for over a year and they seem to go for $600+ everywhere I have seen them, even in that condition. Prices have recently jumped on them in the last few years.

I just bought a nice one for $675 and I was glad at that price. The last two I have seen when for $750, and $800.

i just bought 1 with original box and paperwork, 1975 model by the serial number, i paid $650

I personally like the 28's. I got one in similar condition, I bought a 29-2, 66-1 and a 629 of a fellow and he throwing the 28 for free. Shoot the hell out of it 357 in an N frame will last forever.

'Course, the "Hwy Patrolman" needs to be in 4" trim to be relevant.

Agreed. My favorite barrel length for a S&W N-frame revolver.

I sold this one for $750 and it went fairly quick. The serial number puts it at 1958.

I paid much more for it, but I didnt know any better at the time.
