Anyone know where i can find a scope for the QBU-88? It's the DMR variant of the type97, but scope mount is wildly different.

I read that pearl river optronic, aka state arsenal333 made them, but they are now bankrupt. Kahles made a 6-24 version, but it is impossible to find. Some other factory must have taken over production, it is still active service. I can't find anything, but does anyone know anything?

Tactical Imports handles the rifle and may be able to help. Canada Ammo is trying to import the rifle and this be able to get accessories. It may be besy to have a mount adapter machined, as I recall the mount is 9.3mm wide with a 45 deg bevel.

Are you looking specifically for the scope, are you looking at putting a different mount onto a Type 88, or are you trying to affix a T88 scope onto a T97? If it is the latter, the scope will not fit (9mm dovetail for the T97 versus 14mm for the 88). I will also point out that the T97 and the T88 are not variants of one another.. nothing is shared between the two. The nomenclature for export (the 97/97a moniker) is what screws things up for everyone.

If you're looking for the scope, I highly doubt you will find one since the ones in Canada were paired with the export version of the 88 -- and there are only about a dozen here. The export scope is (supposedly) different from the PLA versions as the reticle is etched/calibrated for 5.56 instead of 5.8mm. I believe the PLA scope cannot be imported, but you can always ask some importers. Tactical Imports had imported a few 88's about two or three years ago, but they are no longer on their website so I'm assuming they have nothing to do with them at this point. CanAm toyed with the idea of bringing 88's in, but I believe that was just to say they could, as no price point was established, and CanAm would have to bring in mass quantities to bring the prices down -- and these would not be including a scope either (a pic rail would be offered instead).

If you are looking to put a new mount on an 88 (possible dovetail to picatinny conversion), ask some gunsmiths.
