remington 870 vs 887

Weigh in on this one for me please. Pro's con's? I hear ya cant beat an 870, are these rumours true? haha

Better to ask on the shotgun forum, but the difference is the finish. Same gun, otherwise. In B.C., the 887 might be a better idea. The finish protects the steel better in the wet.
If money is an issue, look into a Mossberg Marine. High quality for less money.

I like the 870. A few good thick coats of car wax a few times a year will protect from anything I can throw at it. 400 rounds through mine this month, I almost feel guilty about not cleaning it.

The internals are totally different, the two shotguns couldn't be farther apart.

Stick with the 870. Good prices (for express models) and HUGE aftermarket support. Remington has been making this shotgun for well over 60 years and not much has changed. I love mine and would never consider getting rid of it.

Fully and totally agree. I had one that was returned for warranty work, they could not fix it so UI ended up with an 870 Tactical. Should have bought the 870 in the first place. The problem I had (and many others did) was it would not fire if there was ANY rearward pressure on the foregrip/pump, basically taking it out of battery. There are youtube vids on this problem. STAY AWAY!!!
