I'm now a criminal on paper.....I own a Mossberg 715t

Send them back to Mossberg postage collect and demand a full refund for the purchase price of your rifle...or write to mossberg and tell them they have turned a whole nation into criminals when they released their tacticool duck slaying pistol . But you are not a criminal because you own the gun !

I know Mossberg swapped all the magazines that were in store stockpiles. Not sure if they offered the same for owners, I'd give their warranty centre a call.

Or switch to the 10/22 platform and learn that a rifle can fire more than 2rds in a row without a jam :D (sorry guys, couldn't resist) Realistically speaking, this just shows how stupid our laws are and I hope the latest push around the SA/CZ mess will force our government to implement a reasonable rewrite of the FA.

And hope Rugar never makes a pistol that takes 10/22 mags.

Go check the on going thread on this in the Legalese section.
Not exactly confirmed they are prohib yet, just prohib from importing them.
Only ones that actually say in writting that they are prohib is Mossberg.(Their inturpritation of our law)
RCMP show nothing on web site.

BINGO The RCMP have said NOTHING.
Who needs #####y FUDDS at the range we have it here.

Irrelevant because the 25rd magazines that I own are marketed for the rifle only, not the handgun

Wrong! If there is a pistol version, then the mag gets reclassified to 10 rounds. Why do you think the M&P 15-22 is now pinned?
If you're going to give advise, it would be wise the check all the facts.
As it stands, the RCMP hasn.t posted anything but that being said they don't need to it's already in the criminal code!

From all the sources, people who actually talked to the RIGHT People in the RCMP and CFO offices, this is what has come down. Remember no notice from RCMP has been made only a manufacture jumping the gun to try to stop any lawsuits from owners.

All old mags were packaged and labeled for use in "715T RIFLE Only" which there was over 20,000 of them in Canada. This labeling makes them all 100% legal as that is what they were designed for and marketed as. (RCMP know this and is probably why we have no updates on this matter as its a nightmare for them). only new imports have been prohibited because they were specified for rifle and Pistol. New imports will only enter the country with a 10 round mag now, even though no pistols have entered the country as yet as I know. So technically the pistol is not "readily available" in Canada and should not even be an issue. All new 25 mags made in the US are also Camo not black as the company has moved there marketing for these firearms away from scary AR assault rifles to fun shooting Hunting small game rifles.(so I have been told by american friends) so they are identifiable from old ones.

Until the RCMP comes out and says they are all banned like they did for other .22 rifles that were not properly marked, packaged or labeled for RIFLE designed only, your old mags are legal and good to go.

There's a rifle version of the LAR-15.. It's called the AR-15.. Do I need to pin all of my LAR mags to 5rds? Bottom line is that if the MAG mfgr says it's for the rifle only, no limit on rimfire. If the mfgr says it's for the rifle and pistol, then it's 10rds for rimfire. In this case, Mossberg, the magazine manufacturer said the magazines are for both the rifle and the pistol, hence the possible need to pin, depending on the pistol's availability on the CDN market. Otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to buy my smoke 25rd steel lip Butler Creek mags at the local Sail.

The M&P is pinned because like the BDX/BTX(?) magazine for the Ruger 10/22 it was advertised as designed for both the rifle/pistol versions. The criminal code does say it clearly. If the magazine is built and purpose designed for the rimfire rifle, it has no magazine capacity limit.

Even the most rock headed people couldn't argue the magazine is designed for anything but the rifle, since it's been for sale for what, half a decade already?

What a load of poo poo cocka. I have both the flat top and the carry handle model. They would look terrible with ten rounders and not as much fun.
