Ok, I got this gun on a trade (with a xs full sight rail) and it turns out I really like it and am going to keep it (handy little thing). I was going to mount a bushnell 3200 elite 3x9x40 with low leupold QR rings, as that is what was in the closet, but alas the rings are too low.

Question 1 - if I want to go the standard scope route, and use the bushnell, what height rings do I need? Medium?

Question 2 - I am now thinking that a scout style scope might be a fun option, but I want to retain some decent magnification for hunting purposes (maybe like a 2-7x?) what options are out there in the medium price category? I know nothing about these types of scopes....is a handgun scope a possibility too?

If it was ME - i'd stick to irons, or a fixed 4x.

Granted this is coming from a guy who already has every rifle/optic combo for every hunting/shooting situation possible (just about!).... but since it's a scout rifle, you should use it as such. Irons, or low power fixed/variable.

Well - I definitly need a QR setup so the irons are accessable. Having some magnification on this rifle is a must have for me though, 4x might be enough but would be the bare minimum.

Anyone have answers to Q's 1&2 above?

Sort of new to this Scout Rifle myself, Im looking to get one after a co-worker got one.

He is an Irons guy, but the application of a Micro Red Dot really made the rifle shine in the purpose-of-use he wanted.

I will probably go with a Micro Aimpoint if/when mine comes to fruition.

Standard Scope: Medium

Budget Scout Scope. (keep the LQR's) Hi-Lux. I beleive Wolverine has them in-stock. Model is LER27X32
