Looking to Buy a 22 cal Air Rifle

Hi

I have been kicking around the idea of picking up a 22 cal air rifle around 1000 fps but don't want to break the bank
I have a Diana RWS 34 and 48 now which work well but don't want to spend that much on a 22

Cannot find anything in the EE but seen the

Crosman Nitro Venom Dusk
Break barrel nitro piston

.22 Caliber @ 950 FPS

and was wondering if worth buying and who sells them or should I be looking at another make and model

I'm sorry, I wish I knew airguns at the level where i can make recommendations.
My previous post was just a thing I learned from sk8snwmx's link.

Understand. I am not up to speed either. Know I can buy another diana 34 but don't really want to put out the cash for plinking rodents

I m guessing that the nitro numbers were generated using alloy ammo. Don t confuse speed and energy, your 48 in 22 cal would be awesome, I have one and its fast and accurate with crosman cps.

I had 1 of those Xisco guns a couple years ago, its was powerfull but had tonnes of 'twang', they are in need of a serious tuning!

Yes, Unicorn is right. Keep in mind that manufacturer's advertises velocities are inflated for several reasons. They tend to use ultra-light pellets, and the highest velocity recorded.
Even after tuning, my .22 Weihrauch gets about 680 fps when using a 'real-world' weight pellet (a.k.a. the one with best accuracy at 25 and 50 metres).

Certainly there are some that can attain supersonic in .22, such as AirForce Condor, among others.
Obviously easier to get higher velocities in .177.

Thank you. I am going to pick one up of the xisco mags just as soon as I find out what would be the best one piece scope mount for it.
I have an extra medium here somewhere but not sure if that will work.The scope I have is nothing fancy just a 1" 4x32 but for an air rifle
Not looking for a tack driver here or anything long term.
