Hello, I am new to the forum and was wondering if anyone has any information regarding the stevens 520 take down pump. I have a couple that were handed down to me and am curious to know the value and any history regarding it.
Thanks

You have to upload your pics to a hosting service; Picasa, Photobucket etc.

There are three distinct versions on the Stevens 520 known as the double-hump, single hump and smooth, as well as a myriad of model and store-brand names. They were originally designed by JMB and some served as trench guns in both world wars. I bough one recently and comfortably paid $225, and I do not feel my money was wasted in the slightest. It is easily twice the gun compared to the crap mossberg and remington put out these days.

$100- $150 is really on the cheap side. They would have to be pretty beat up to garner that little. No reason why you couldn't sell them for at least $200-$300 if they are in very good shape. You certainly can't buy any other decent wood and steel guns for that price.

In there day they were ok for $2-$300 u can buy a model 12 and they certainly don't fit into that category as far as quality or colitablity . As its goes on gun nutz EE u can ask what ever u want for any particular gun and after 3000-4000 views and it's still for sale u may have to readjust your pricing.Just Saying.

Not sure the last time you bought a Model 12 but all the ones on the EE start at $375. As for price, there is no sense in selling yourself short. Start high and barter down. I would rather start at $250 and settle at $150 than start at $100 and end at $75. And I something does not sell, you have to adjust your price. Generally the rule of the EE is that if it doesn't sell within 1-2 weeks, you're either asking too much or your ad is crap.
