Hello to all,
I am curious if there is anyone competent enough to host a clinic for those enthusiasts new to the world of M14. I know that "Hungry" used to come out to BC in the past but I am not certain if he has any plans on doing so this year/summer.
I've located an old post regarding a clinic up in the Squamish area and I am curious how it went? Are there any plans for one this year?
Perhaps TACTICAL TEACHER could make his way past the prairies and over the Rockies to visit British Columbia. Are any gun clubs / gun ranges in BC willing to organize such a clinic?
On a related note: Everyone in the shooting community is keeping to themselves. Every shooter I encounter is just worried about his own business/his own type of shooting. Same goes for clubs and ranges. This idea of keeping 'quiet' and not stirring anything up is going to end up shutting every facility down sooner then later. Just like reclassification, bans and so on....the sport itself will eventually die. Unless organizations, clubs, ranges, and individuals stop hiding that they are shooting enthusiasts and active, participating members of such community. Why do we have to feel bad about that? Why does a person go out of his way to avoid neighbors when loading a rifle into his car when planning a visit to the range? What we do is not only LEGAL but also righteous! So come out of your shells, EVERYONE. Start being proud, active and united.
And, for the club and ranges specifically - your members are your responsibility, not your individual cliques, not your internal politics or your revenues. Your members and quests are the sole reason why you exist. So welcome them, make them feel good that they pay their dues instead of prohibiting them to do this or that. Stop putting 19th century rules and grow with both the sport and the times. Lastly, don't just exist. Organize frequent shooting competitions, clinics for different types of guns, invite other members of the community. That's how you gain exposure and survive. Not by pretending those 'few' trees that your shooting range is behind will keep you out of sight and out of mind.
