Hey guys,
I recently added a sig sauer p220 scoprion to my gun collection, I now have two handguns(sig p226 mk25 and the p220) and am wanting a relatively cheap 400-600 handgun that i can just go shooting with and not have to worry about maintaining as much as my sigs!!!
Any ideas on a good gun that fitsthis mold? I was thinking a Girsan yavuz 9mm, norinco 1911!!! but would like your guys' feedback on the matter!!!!
thanks,
Wiksyk

Do Sigs need extra maintenance over other handguns?

If you just want a cheapo plinker go Norinco or get a SAM 1911 from Wolverine. Ruger SR9/40's are pretty reasonable too...

Just my thought but would you consider getting a 22? A Buckmark or a Rugger Mk III would be a good addition. It would fit in to your budget and it would also be more economical to shoot. Generally when I go out to the range I start out with my 22 before I move on to a center fire pistol.

I've only had my Siggy a little while but he don't need much maintenance. Wipe his butt, give him a bit of lube, feed him he's happy;)

Ya I was thinking a glock 17, a 22 is not a bad idea, I like your thinking sir!!!!!!!!!and no Sigs don't require any more maintenance I just take care of them as much as I can do to cost, absolute love of them and the 226 for competition.
Thanks Gents

Check out the M&P thread. This is a cheap gun that soaks up torture - if that means being used lots and lots.

Use the money you would have spent to buy more ammo instead. Any SIG P2XX pistol will stand up better to heavy use than anything that sells new for $400-$600.

If you want to spend money on something just to look at and not actually use, might I suggest Franklin Mint collector plates?

When my Les Baer 1911 arrives sometime around next February, I eagerly look forward to wearing off the finish with lots of draws from the holster.

I've got a great Norc up on the EE you should consider for your torturing. Hear they LOVE waterboarding.

while i agree, my Glock 17C is a fun gun and reliable..... but for the price if i where hunting for a gun to beat up id get the S&W range kit.
gun, mags, holster (gun and mags) loader, cant go wrong.

but if you wanna go even cheaper the SAMs in 1911 are fun and seem to be made pretty good.

i guess it depends if you wanna get into the 1911 family or plastic family?

Agreed, what he said.
