Just wondering what the process is, so my family will know what to do in the event. Hopefully I'll be old and gray and my kids will have rpals and be able to take posession. But right now their both under 10. This has probably been discussed but I cant find it.V:I:V:I:s

Are you married or in a live-in relationship? If so, get your woman to get her RPAL. Otherwise, the RCMP will do what they love most - take guns out of civilian hands. But it's probably best if you just don't die. It's not that tough, billions of people don't die everyday.

The executor of your estate will deal with the liquidation of your assets.
Make sure you have a will, then your wishes will determine what happens.

Exactly, the Executor or Executrix of your estate can lawfully hold and disperse of the assets of the estate including firearms even if that person doesn't hold a firearms license. Suggest you name a person in your will for the firearms to go to and identify they be returned to your heirs upon them getting their firearms license.

My children took their firearms courses at age eighteen and are named in the will to inherit and can at that time do as they wish with them. Very important to have a will in place.

Last week made a note to my will for those newly aquired restricteds, i have 2 grandkids that i sent for their RPAL and both are awaiting their permit, so on my will all my restricteds will be handed to them, afterward they will make it equal for the rest, i have many clauses in my will concerning my rifles and shotguns, and now restricteds... JP.

If you have a will, does that completely prevent the police from seizing any firearms? Or do they just do as they wish when it comes to this?

Except if they think, a crime was comitted with them, if not, they can not be touch, all decisions will go tru the executary... JP.

I got my son to get the rpal. He's not really that interested in guns (he came to the range 3x last year), but there will be no hassles with my restricted that way.

I hope you had the note dated & signed by yourself and a witness signed also, or notarized by a Notary Public , otherwise it may not be valid.
