Mossy 500 Persuader "Black Shotgun" now has Wood. What do you think?

il take the butt stock if you have the bolt for it. Not sure what those sell for.

No bolt. It's being used with the wood stock.

ya i have a older 870 wingmaster with the wood furniture and i love it. I am more partial to mossbergs so i would love to get my hands on yours or one similar. A 590 or 590A1 with the wood furniture would be sweet as well.

I saw a 590 in the EE with an available wood stock, not sure if it's still there.

Nothing new about it. They came with 8 round mags and oiled wood stocks for eons before there was such a thing as a synthetic shotgun stock. Took an M-16 bayonet, as well. Sold lots of 'em in the early 80's.

I'm one of the people that bought one... The wood stock on the old 500s was rough and junky. Tactical plastic wasn't really a Thing back then...

Not sure how old this wood stock I got on the EE was, it's pretty damned nice. Then again, it could have been refinished along the way...

After installing Mossy 500 wood off the EE. What do you think? 8rd capacity and wood...

Two thumbs up! Nice choice:)

I like this 590 A1 from the internet... handled a 590 A1 at the store - action didn't really feel much different than the 500, had better furniture and peep/hi-viz sight though.

Well, I must say that the old recoil pad on the wood furniture I installed is as hard as a rock. Makes it rather difficult to shoot. I will need a new one for sure and the ones that go on the polymer furniture do not fit, they hang off about 3mm around the edge.

Any leads on recoil pads that fit the wood stocks?

I love that old-school look, but to be technically correct, a heatshielded Mossberg should have a bayonet lug. That's an 18.5" and I think only the 20" had bayo lugs.
Still looks great though!

I read that some 590A1's came with factory wood furniture as an option.
