Here's the right direction for those mounts:

Too high (sometimes even a chin weld may become an issue) and holding zero might be an issue since you are introducing more points of mechanical failure. I'm not familiar with JRC's but if you wanna mount optics, remove the carry handle if possible, go flattop. If not, just use the irons.
Mmmmm, I find the with height of the iron sight my ear defenders hit the stock so I can't look thru the sight. More height needed. (or use ear plugs, of course)

If your ear protection is preventing a proper cheek weld and sight alignment, you're doing it wrong. Stop rolling your head over.

One of my uppers has a vortex red dot mounted on the carry handle and I don't mind it all. Bought the strikefire with low mount and a carry handle rail adapter on the EE here for about 10 bucks.
